CNBC reported on news of UCLA's new partnership with tech titans Broadcom, Meta and others to launch a $125 million semiconductor hub. The partnership connects academia and industry leaders to accelerate research and workforce development for AI-powered chip technologies. Faculty and student researchers will work with the founding companies to help shorten the timeline for new chip innovations to reach a rapidly-changing market, said Ah-Hyung “Alissa” Park, the Ronald and Valerie Sugar Dean of Engineering at UCLA Samueli.
