Indian households continue to buy cooking gas at a much cheaper rate than in any other country despite a sharp rise in global energy prices due the West Asia crisis, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said on Sunday, defending the fresh hike in domestic LPG prices by Rs 29 per cylinder.
