US President Donald Trump has opened the door to possible American involvement in Saudi Arabia’s military campaign against Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis following reported attacks on Riyadh’s airport. The reported explosion triggered major flight disruptions, with aircraft diverted or cancelled and dozens of people reportedly injured. The US mission in Saudi Arabia has urged American citizens to avoid the airport and surrounding areas. Washington has been providing intelligence and targeting assistance to Riyadh, but direct US participation in Saudi airstrikes would mark a significant escalation. With the Houthis warning commercial airlines against operating in Saudi airspace, the crisis is raising fresh concerns over regional security, civilian aviation and the widening conflict. Will Trump join Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in a direct military campaign against the Houthis?
