A fire in Kanjurmarg's signalling relay room disrupted Central Railway suburban services for nearly nine hours on Monday. Combined with a separate Mulund-Thane equipment failure, it led to 80 cancellations and delays of up to 90 minutes. Commuters faced overcrowding and prolonged halts. Railway officials restored the last affected line at 6.18 pm and ordered an inquiry into the fire's cause.
