Congress leader and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi has condemned the use of force against protesting students in Jharkhand, saying students have a right to peaceful protest and only dialogue can provide solutions. His remarks came as protesters marching towards the Jharkhand Assembly faced batons and tear gas. Gandhi urged the JMM-led Jharkhand government, where Congress is an alliance partner, to listen to students and resolve their issues immediately. He had earlier described student protests across India as a response to a collapsed, expensive and oppressive education system, urging every government to act.
