A decade-long Ganpati health screening initiative by Eyebetes Foundation found that 40% of people above 40 screened were prediabetic or diabetic. The foundation, led by Dr Nishant Kumar, has conducted free diabetes and eye checks since 2016. It said over 10,000 people are screened yearly, with many discovering health issues for the first time through these camps.
