The Bombay High Court has allowed the removal of mangrove patches in the approach area of the Vadhvan Port project in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, clearing a major regulatory obstacle. The decision is expected to speed up construction of India’s deep-draft port. Officials said contracts for breakwater, reclamation and connectivity infrastructure are already underway across multiple workstreams.
