The BMC plans to install steel nets across all major Mumbai nullahs by May 2028 to prevent garbage dumping and reduce waterlogging risks. After successful trials at select locations, the civic body will expand the project to areas including the Vakola River. The city has 314 major nullahs spanning over 300 km.
