India summoned US Chargé d’Affaires Jason Meeks to the Ministry of External Affairs and lodged a strong diplomatic protest over reported American military strikes on commercial vessels off the coast of Oman, which reportedly led to the deaths of three Indian seafarers. The MEA expressed serious concern over the reported use of force affecting civilian shipping and urged restraint, while calling for the safety of Indian mariners and stability in international maritime routes.
