Museums usually conjure up images of imposing architecture, hushed galleries and glass cabinets. The open-air museum concept is rather unusual as it does not present the history inside but recreates it in the landscape, village, street, settlement. Not only are visitors able to view exhibits but also explore the places where people used to live, work, build communities.
