A large-scale tree plantation drive was held at Adai Hill in Panvel, where MLA Prashant Thakur urged citizens to plant and nurture at least one tree annually. Volunteers have planted over 10,000 trees over the past 12–13 years, while environmental groups sought government support for additional check dams, desilting work and forest fire prevention to sustain the plantations.
