The Bombay High Court’s Nagpur bench has declared Arun Ferreira’s 2011 arrest illegal, ruling that police failed to communicate the grounds of arrest as required by constitutional safeguards. Ferreira had been acquitted in eight criminal cases before being taken into custody shortly after leaving Nagpur Central Prison.
