The joint Parliamentary committee (JPC) on the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026 will hold its first meeting today (September 18), where it will be briefed by the representatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs on the proposed legislation.Meanwhile the Lok Sabha Secretariat on September 16 nominated Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha MP Javed Ali Khan and NPP MP in the Upper House James Pangsang Kongkal Sangma, as special invitees to the joint Parliamentary committee. James is the brother of Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma.
