Several Opposition parties, including Congress, TMC, SP, DMK, AAP, Shiv Sena (UBT) and the Left, have demanded the resignation or removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar following a report alleging repeated objections by fellow Election Commissioners over decisions linked to the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The Election Commission has maintained that differing views are part of its deliberations and that its final decisions have been unanimous.
