Zutaten:
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup whole milk
- Gel food coloring in pastel shades (pink, blue, yellow, purple)
- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 –3 tbsp heavy cream or milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Easter sprinkles
- Mini chocolate eggs
- Colored coconut flakes
Arbeitsschritte:
- Step 1: Prepare the Pans
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
- Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
- In a medium bowl, whisk together:
- flour
- baking powder
- salt
- Step 3: Make the Batter
- In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3–4 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract.
- Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk, beginning and ending with the dry mixture. Mix just until combined.
- Step 4: Create the Swirls
- Divide batter evenly into 4 small bowls.
- Tint each bowl with a different pastel food color.
- Spoon dollops of colored batter randomly into the prepared pans.
- Use a skewer or butter knife to gently swirl the colors together for a marbled effect.
- Step 5: Bake
- Bake for 28–32 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes.
- Transfer to a wire rack and cool completely.
- Step 6: Make the Frosting
- Beat butter until creamy.
- Gradually add powdered sugar.
- Mix in vanilla, salt, and cream until smooth and fluffy.
- Step 7: Assemble the Cake
- Place one cake layer on a serving plate.
- Spread frosting on top.
- Add the second layer and frost the top and sides.
- Decorate with sprinkles, candy eggs, or coconut flakes if desired.
