Zutaten:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 ¾ cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • Gel food coloring in pastel shades (pink, blue, yellow, purple)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 –3 tbsp heavy cream or milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Easter sprinkles
  • Mini chocolate eggs
  • Colored coconut flakes

Arbeitsschritte:

  • Step 1: Prepare the Pans
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
  • Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together:
  • flour
  • baking powder
  • salt
  • Step 3: Make the Batter
  • In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3–4 minutes.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk, beginning and ending with the dry mixture. Mix just until combined.
  • Step 4: Create the Swirls
  • Divide batter evenly into 4 small bowls.
  • Tint each bowl with a different pastel food color.
  • Spoon dollops of colored batter randomly into the prepared pans.
  • Use a skewer or butter knife to gently swirl the colors together for a marbled effect.
  • Step 5: Bake
  • Bake for 28–32 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes.
  • Transfer to a wire rack and cool completely.
  • Step 6: Make the Frosting
  • Beat butter until creamy.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar.
  • Mix in vanilla, salt, and cream until smooth and fluffy.
  • Step 7: Assemble the Cake
  • Place one cake layer on a serving plate.
  • Spread frosting on top.
  • Add the second layer and frost the top and sides.
  • Decorate with sprinkles, candy eggs, or coconut flakes if desired.
