Another bonfire night headed up north to DJ - bombing along motorways - the sky lighting up with fireworks all around. The feeling of time falling away, the years gone by stacking up, the countless journeys to gigs, countless car rides home in the early hours, trying to sleep. The realisation that I’ve been doing this for over twenty years. The only difference between now and then is that now, before I leave the house, I utter a short silent prayer asking to be delivered home safely to my family.
