AS a programming note, I had a different topic in mind for today’s column, but I was somewhat concerned about the reaction it might elicit, so earlier this week I decided to try to smoke out any potential backlash to it. Turns out my suspicions were correct; that little maneuver on my part resulted in a veiled threat coming my way, so for the sake of keeping some other people and the organization whose welfare I care about out of the crossfire, I will instead discuss another subject of importance today. Not to worry, though; there are different ways to skin a cat, and I have more than one platform to use to expose some uncomfortable truths, to the possible detriment of those who would rather they were not exposed.
