Security forces launch Hebron-area operation following deadly shooting Israeli security forces launched a counterterrorism operation in the Hebron area following this morning’s shooting attack that killed two IDF soldiers and wounded several others, the military and Shin Bet said in a joint statement. Troops began searching for weapons and terrorist infrastructure and questioning suspects. The operation was expected to last several days and was limited to the area from which the attackers operated, the statement said. Residents would be allowed to leave through three designated exit points after questioning and security screening. The operation followed earlier measures, including cordons around Hebron and Halhul, roadblocks and the mapping of the attackers’ homes.
