India is developing SHIELD, a high-power microwave testing system designed to reveal how drones, sensors and communication equipment react under electronic attack. The DRDO project could help India build stronger counter-drone weapons and protect its own military systems against threats from China and Pakistan.But SHIELD is not yet a battlefield weapon. It is an evaluation facility meant to identify what makes electronics fail, malfunction or shut down. Shreya Chandra explains
