The BMC plans safety audits of five dams—Tulsi, Vihar, Middle Vaitarna, Modak Sagar and Tansa—and Pise weir to meet statutory requirements by December 2026. A government-constituted expert panel will assess structural risks and recommend corrective measures. The exercise is estimated to cost Rs 45.90 lakh, with funding proposed from the civic body's 2026–27 revenue budget.
