This session on Generative AI in Mathematics Education presented by Dr. Tin Lam TOH, Associate Professor, National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore will take place from 8-9:00 p.m. ET on June 25th. Abstract: This session will describe how Generative AI has been used in the mathematics teacher education in Singapore, and a glimpse into the use of Gen AI in school mathematics classroom. More importantly, he will also present an alternative paradigm of using Gen AI embedding into the problem-solving mathematics curriculum. Short Speaker's Bio: Dr Tin Lam TOH is an Associate Professor and currently the Head of the Mathematics & Mathematics Education Academic Department in the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He is a mathematician by training and has moved on to mathematics education research since he joined the National Institute of Education. He held research grants on mathematical problem solving and use of comics in mathematics education, among several other research projects. He has published in both mathematics and mathematics education in his career.
