Drone visuals from Devighat in Nuwakot district show villages and houses covered in thick mud, damaged bridges and debris along the river as authorities resume search and rescue operations to trace nearly 3,000 missing people after weather-related suspension. Nepal Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal says, "Following the devastating flash floods in Bhote Koshi River on 26 August 2026, the cause of which is not yet determined fully, the Government of Nepal has mobilised all available resources," adding, "So far, 626 bodies have been recovered... about 2400 people are still unaccounted for. Over 4450 people have been rescued... including over 187 foreign nationals" and "An eleven-member specialised technical reconnaissance team for tunnel rescue from India has been mobilized."
