After monkeys repeatedly raided farms in a Japanese village, three women aged 67 to 74 formed a group called the “Monkey Busters” to protect local produce. Inspired by the name of Ghostbusters, the grandmothers patrol their neighbourhood with air guns to scare away the animals, which are also suspected of causing trouble at nearby historical and religious sites.
