MRVC has started a technical study for the fourth phase of the Mumbai Urban Transport Project to plan suburban rail expansion till 2047. The exercise will assess new corridors, additional tracks, station upgrades and safety measures. It will examine future demand for 2030, 2035, 2040 and 2047, including connectivity for NAINA and Mumbai 3.0.
