A heated exchange broke out in the Assam Assembly after Raijor Dal MLA Akhil Gogoi alleged police were under-registering FIRs to show lower crime rates. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pijush Hazarika rejected the claims, defended the FIR process under the BNS, and accused Gogoi of concealing pending cases in his election affidavit. Speaker Ranjeet Kumar Dass expunged part of Gogoi's remarks.
