BMC Crackdown Sparks Livelihood Fears Among Bhopal Beauticians
Thousands of women running home-based beauty parlours in Bhopal fear a livelihood crisis following the BMC’s crackdown on commercial activities in residential areas. They say their businesses are small and non-polluting and many hold Gumashta and commercial licences. The Bhopal Beauty Parlours Association estimates nearly 5,000 women could be affected.
