Thane residents formed a human chain on September 6 to protest against the proposed Thane Integral Ring Metro project. Organised by TAIRM, the demonstration on Pokhran Road No. 2 saw participation from citizens, businesses and environmental activists. Protesters raised concerns over tree felling, displacement, traffic disruption and questioned the project’s feasibility.
