Lt. Gen. Sergei Milchakov, commander of Russia’s 51st Combined Arms Army, was reportedly killed in a Ukrainian strike on a Russian military command post in occupied Donetsk Oblast on Aug. 26, according to Russian media reports published Sept. 14. Ukrainian authorities confirmed the strike, saying precision attacks destroyed concealed Russian command posts and that heavy losses among senior Russian officers were being assessed.
