The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation has approved private participation in its ‘ST Sange Tirthatan’ pilgrimage scheme on a two-year pilot basis to improve services and boost revenue. While MSRTC will operate buses and collect fares, private operators will manage accommodation, food and travel services. Selected firms will be chosen via RFP and share at least 10% of revenue.
