Gov. Maura Healey on Monday signed legislation that removes restrictions on abortions after 24 weeks of gestation. Previously, abortions after 24 weeks were only allowed in life-threatening situations for the patient or fetus. The new law says the decision should be based on "the professional judgment of the physician."
