More than 2 crore empty liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders are lying idle across the country, either in warehouses owned by distributors or in consumers’ homes, as several major operators have lost their ability to import the cooking gas and other companies cannot refill cylinders carrying rival brands.
