Madhya Pradesh plans to procure electricity on a short-term basis from November 20 to February 20 to meet rising Rabi-season demand, which is expected to reach 21,000 MW. The state has floated a competitive bidding tender for supplies of up to 800 MW during morning hours and 300 MW in the evening.
