Mumbai’s proposed theatre tax hike remains on hold as the BMC awaits approval from the state Urban Development Department. Existing rates will continue until notification. The proposed structure includes Rs 400 per show for multiplexes, Rs 200 for AC single-screen cinemas and Rs 90 for non-AC halls.
