Former U.S. President Barack Obama used his Ohio campaign appearance to draw a sharp contrast between his approach to Iran and President Donald Trump's military strategy. Defending the nuclear agreement negotiated during his administration, Obama said Iran did not have nuclear weapons under the deal and stressed that he achieved it through diplomacy without firing a missile. His remarks revive debate over the 2015 nuclear accord, which Trump abandoned in 2018, and the use of military force to confront Iran's nuclear programme.
