China on Wednesday firmly opposed the US allegations that Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) companies had engaged in “industrial-scale” distillation of US models, condemning Washington for politicizing and weaponizing what it described as a normal technical and commercial practice in the industry, while applying double standards in practice.
