BMC has ordered round-the-clock action on contaminated-water complaints after 1,514 cases were reported in the first eight months of 2026. A new SOP requires multiple civic departments to trace contamination, repair leaks and certify water safety. Contaminated samples fell to 0.28% in 2025-26, but several pockets recorded higher levels.
