Rita Daniels, Harriet Tubman descendant, on Tubman’s legacy and Juneteenth
Today, the nation celebrates Juneteenth, marking the date more than 160 years ago when the last enslaved people in America were informed of their freedom. Rita Daniels is the great-great-great-grand-niece of the iconic American abolitionist and social activist Harriet Tubman. She is also the founder of the Harriet Tubman Learning Center. Rita joins Morning Joe to discuss Tubman’s legacy and the importance of Juneteenth.
