Konkan Railway has discontinued its car Ro-Ro service for the upcoming Ganesh festival season after receiving fewer than 20 bookings. The facility, launched in August 2025, failed to attract sufficient demand. The railway will instead focus on operating nearly 400 Ganpati Special trains to accommodate the heavy festive rush between Mumbai and the Konkan region.
