While millions of people worldwide are turning to blockbuster weight-loss drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro, a new study suggests the perks might stop at the scale. According to research published in The BMJ, most of these medications fail to deliver broader, meaningful improvements to a patient's quality of life after a year of use.To get these results, researchers analyzed 262 clinical trials involving roughly 100,000 participants and 19 different medications.
