Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has launched a sharp condemnation of Israel’s actions in Gaza and what he described as the wider normalization of military force across the Middle East. Speaking virtually at the Global Townhall 2026 in Jakarta, Araghchi accused Israel and the United States of pursuing aggression and said the Gaza conflict, the war involving Iran and the destruction of civilian infrastructure reflected a broader pattern of escalating confrontation. Araghchi also raised the deaths of 168 students in Minab and questioned how long the international community would allow such conflicts to continue. He called for stronger accountability under international law and a shift away from militarism toward diplomacy, sovereignty and civilian protection.
