An unidentified body was recovered from a drainage canal near Capital Mall in Nalasopara East on Monday. The deceased is suspected to be an elderly person, according to preliminary information. The Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation Fire Brigade helped retrieve the body. Police have started an investigation, while the cause of death will be confirmed after post-mortem.
