Jharkhand's JPSC-JSSC student protest intensified dramatically in Ranchi as protesters marched towards the Assembly and breached barricades amid clashes with security forces. Police used tear gas, water cannons and lathicharge as the situation escalated, with protesters and police personnel reportedly injured. The Assembly was adjourned after the agitators closed in. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate has launched a PMLA probe into alleged recruitment examination irregularities, particularly the JSSC-CGL case. The state CID has also arrested former JPSC chairman L Khiangte. The government has agreed to cancel three exams and involve the ED in probing alleged financial irregularities.
