Hauptaufgaben Operates one or more types of heavy equipment, i.e. gasoline or diesel-powered engineering and construction equipment with wheeled or brawler type traction, such as graders, tractors with bulldozer or angle-dozer blades, front-end loaders, excavator trench diggers, etc. to excavate, backfill, grade, or level earth to rough specifications on projects or construction sites. Furthermore, incumbent operates floor-born-vehicles, such as forklifts, diesel or battery driven. Additionally, during wintertime, snow removal equipment needs to be operated such as trucks, tractors, Unimogs etc., with attached snowplow and rock salt spreader gadgets. Moves earth on mountains and steep slopes, graded curves and shoulders, rocky or soft ground, hilly forests, and other surfaces with similar rough features. Grades surfaces, compacts soils, or rolls to exact specifications on flat or rolling terrain. Adjusts attachments for proper positioning and working order, making adjustments, usually without stopping the power unit or the equipment. Steers and operates by using clutches, levers, brakes and valves according to the slope or tilt. Operates close to buildings, trees, drop-offs, rocks, or other obstructions. Operates one or more types of heavy equipment to push, pull, pile, or load materials such as sand, gravel, earth, coal, or refuse. Uses equipment which is fitted with a front-end loader to maneuver to a specific spot to transfer material into a dump truck. Clears brush, tree stumps, and rocks. Operates several types of mowing equipment, such as riding mowers, unimogs with mowing & mulching attachments as well as a street sweeping machine. Adjusts the attachments for proper level, angle, or depth according to the work to be done and type of equipment used. Such work is generally done on flat or rolling terrain, refuse dumps, and construction sites with simple terrain problems. Performs other duties as assigned.
