Zachary won a 2018 New York State Associated Press Association award for his coverage of the Aluminaire House — an all-metal home known as a prominent American example of functional Modernist architecture. In 2022, he was part of a team that won a NAREE award for a special section documenting the state of New York City’s commercial real estate market in the wake of COVID-19. He holds degrees from Bard College and the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism.
