Why Punjabi deserves official recognition in J&K - The Tribune
The Jammu and Kashmir government has committed to introducing a Bill to grant Punjabi official-language status in the forthcoming Budget Session, following weeks of agitation by the Punjabi Basha Morcha in Jammu. For more than 14 days, people from different communities have been participating in the Morcha, demanding recognition for a language with deep historical and literary roots in the region.
