According to IATA, India became the sixth-largest aviation market with 218.2 million passengers in 2025, growing 3.3%. The Mumbai-Delhi route ranked ninth globally with 5.5 million passengers. The report analysed data from 1,315 airlines worldwide and showed India's domestic aviation growth alongside rising global traffic trends, with the United States and China leading passenger volumes.
