After a nail-biting 2-1 extra-time win over Norway in the quarter finals on Saturday (11 July), the Three Lions will have to face off against title holders Argentina to reach the final. At a press conference on Monday (13 July), Pickford gave the “goalkeeper’s perspective” on what makes Messi such a formidable opponent. “ We all know how good Messi is but we also know how good Argentina is. So can't just solely rely on Messi. We've got our focus on the other strengths as well and the other weaknesses we can take advantage of.”
