Maharashtra Cabinet Approves Finance And Planning Department Restructuring To Streamline Budget And Policy Functions
The Maharashtra Cabinet approved restructuring of the Finance and Planning departments to improve efficiency. Budget-related subjects and 28 posts from the Planning Department will move to the Finance Department. The changes follow the replacement of the Planning Commission with NITI Aayog. The Planning Department will now focus on policy monitoring, scheme reviews and development planning.
