Mumbai Water Crisis: Usable Lake Storage Drops To 6.93 Per Cent; Delayed Projects Raise Long-Term Supply Concerns
Mumbai's usable water stock has dropped to 6.93%, with only about one lakh million litres remaining in its seven lakes. While the BMC has imposed water cuts and restrictions, delayed projects such as the Gargai Dam and desalination plants mean the city will continue to depend on the monsoon for the next three to four years.
