Bombay HC Directs BMC To Audit Land Holdings For Free Housing For Sanitation Workers
The Bombay High Court has directed the BMC to examine its land holdings and identify properties suitable for free housing for sanitary workers. The court criticised the 18-year delay in implementing a 2008 Maharashtra policy and rejected a vague BMC affidavit. The civic body must file a fresh, comprehensive report by September 9.
